KSB wins major order for Algerian desalination plant

At the end of April 2008 the KSB Group received an order for the supply of 64 pumps and around 1000 butterfly valves to a new seawater desalination plant being built in Tlemcen, western Algeria.

The supply includes 13 HGM-RO high-pressure pumps, each driven by a 11,000 V, 1,300 kW high-voltage motor, and capable of generating pressures of more than 50 bar. Scheduled for completion this month, the drinking water plant will produce around 200 million litres/day of water.
