Blackmer sliding vane pumps upgraded

Blackmer has upgraded the elastomer seals in several of its sliding vane pump series to allow for compatibility with ultra-low sulphur diesel and all ethanol and biodiesel blends. The fluorocarbon elastomers (FKM) have been upgraded to a high-grade compound to allow for a much broader compatibility range of fluids, the company says. The elastomer being used is UL listed and approved for all ethanol blends (including 100% ethanol), all biodiesel blends (including B100) and all diesel blends (including ULSD - ultra-low sulfur diesel).

Pumps affected by the upgrade include the X Series, GX Series, NP Series, XL Series, ML Series HXL Series of the company's base mounted transfer pumps, the TXSD Pumps in the truck mounted pumps and the ProVane® ductile iron and stainless steel process pumps.

The sizes of these upgraded vane pumps range from ¾ inch ports on the ProVane® PV6 models to 10-inch ports on the HXL10. Flow rates range from 1 gpm (3.8 lpm) to 2,200 gpm (8,328 lpm).
