Hygienic lobe pump from AxFlow

Axflow has extended its hygienic pump capability with the addition of Blackmer's BLK Hy-clean series.

A rotary lobe pump, the BLK Hy-clean is compliant with EHEDG, FDA and 3A regulations. Blackmer has designed this new pump primarily for the food, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals industries where a low shear force is required and liquids containing solids in suspension are encountered, the company says.

The BLK Hy-clean can be easily integrated into existing production lines as it has a modular design (vertical porting) and compact size. It is suitable for both CIP and SIP cleaning regimes, whilst maintenance can be performed in-place without the need to dismantle piping.

The five models within the range offer reversible suction and discharge and can accommodate applications for flow rates between 1.8 and 115.8 m³/h and pressures up to 12 bar.
