New pump protection system from Tapflo

Tapflo has developed a new pump protection system designed to monitor and protect a wide range of pumps. The new patent-pending system is designed for barrier monitoring, dry-run prevention, over/under pressure monitoring and is a dead-head & stop system.

The Guardian system monitors the pressure in the void cavities of a barrier pump, pipe work, tank or vessel. If the pressure in the void increases above the set point due to either a media breach or mechanical failure, the system will issue a signal that can be utilised to sound an alarm and stop the pump. The diaphragm is PTFE faced, similar to the fluid diaphragms of the pump, and is therefore completely tolerant of most media and is much safer than conventional systems, Tapflo says.

The pump is also useful for preventing and containing spills associated with diaphragm failure in air pumps and seal failure in electrical pumps, continually monitoring barrier pumps, tanks, vessels and pipe work for leaks.
