Environmental management award for Grundfos

Grundfos' Danish company, Grundfos A/S, has won an EU award for good environmental management for minimising and handling waste - the first time a Northern European company has received the award.

The company says that it has managed to reduce the amount of waste at the Group's six Danish factories by a third in less than ten years.

"Grundfos has not only significantly reduced the amount of waste, but also managed to increase recycling to an impressive 84%," said the Danish Environmental Agency.

The EU Commission gave the 2007 EMAS Award to companies that made a particular effort within waste minimisation and waste handling.
