Hydraulic Institute seeks reviewers for pump standards
The US Hydraulic Institute (HI), under the approval of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), is seeking qualified individuals to participate in the review process of two newly completed standards: for rotodynamic (centrifugal and vertical) intake design pumps, and for rotary pumps for types and nomenclature.
The rotodynamic standard was designed as a tool in implementing process safety management, as well as general pump availability improvement programs, for rotodynamic (centrifugal and vertical) pumps, including both sealed and sealless pump designs.
The rotary pump standard applies to industrial/commercial rotary positive displacement pumps. It includes: types and nomenclature; definitions; design and application; and installation, operation, and maintenance. It does not include standards on magnetic drives for sealless pumps nor rotary pumps primarily used for fluid power applications.
To participate, contact Karen Anderson, administrator, technical affairs at kanderson@pumps.org.
