Variable speed drive cuts project cost

Honeywell has developed a range of variable speed drives that can cut project costs as well as making it easy to select and install a high quality variable frequency drive for pump, fan or compressor control.

The new drives, that have IP21 protection, cost less than the established IP54 models but is just as easy to install, the company claims. Modbus is built-in, and there are plug-in cards for other common open and proprietary buses

All Honeywell HVAC Drives are pre-configured, and have a Class C RFI filter. A few model options cater for all HVAC applications up to 30KW.

Features of the drives include over-temperature, which adjusts the switching frequency to adapt to an unusual increase in ambient temperature or load increase, power ride-through, which automatically adapts to a sudden voltage drop by reducing motor speed, trip-less output switching, auto restart and flux optimisation for energy savings of 5%.
