Natural gas-operated diaphragm pumps

Ingersoll Rand/ARO has released three new natural gas-powered diaphragm pumps. The pumps reportedly meet the requirements of the Canadian Standards Association (CSA 2.01), an internationally recognized agency for testing and certification of equipment powered by compressed natural gas.

The natural-gas powered pumps have been designed for pre-lube start-up and post-lube shut-down processes for large engines that drive gas compression units and power generation units. They are suitable for fluid handling operations in remote locations where compressed natural gas is an available energy source.

The new pumps feature the same ice and stall-free design as their air-powered counterparts and incorporate major valves which generate strong, positive shift signals and effectively manage gas pressure. By utilizing 'unbalanced' valves, the pumps create an optimal pressure differential, ensuring that valves do not centre and stall the pump, even under low gas inlet pressures.
