Smooth running with pulsation dampeners

Wanner Engineering has developed a series of pulsation dampeners designed for the company's Hydra-Cell series of positive displacement pumps. Hydra-Cell Pulsation Dampeners are available with pressure ranges up to 276bar and operating temperature ranges from -40 to +176C, and in a full range of chemical resistant materials.

Positive displacement pumps can create pulsation and hydraulic shock due to the reciprocating nature of their stroking action, potentially damaging the entire pumping system, Wanner says. Pulsation dampeners work to remove hydraulic shock to protect the pumping system.

The Hydra-Cell Pulsation Dampeners can protect pipes, valves, fittings, meters and inline instrumentation by producing steady and continuous fluid flow up to 99% free from pulsation and vibration, even when dosing, blending or proportioning fluids, Wanner says. This can ensure accuracy, longevity and repeatability of inline meters and enables the uniform application of material in spraying and coating systems.
