Pump control system range launched

The Broadway Group, a UK-based supplier of pumped solutions for domestic and commercial water and fluid waste management has developed Genius Pump Control Systems, a range of integrated variable speed control systems capable of maintaining constant pressure regardless of flow rate.

The speed control systems are available for commercial and industrial uses where a reliable flow of water is required from a pumped supply, such as irrigation systems, watering systems and larger scale potable/washing supplies. The internal duct geometry of the Genius Systems is specifically designed to achieve a very low pressure drop-out versus flow, the company says.

The units have a compact (22x28x18 cm) and lightweight (3.7 kg) format, and once installed, the systems need only a low starting current. In testing with a 1.1kW electric pump set at 30 m, a Genius unit provides a total yearly saving of 6.641 KWh when compared to a standard control system, Broadway says.

Genius Pump Control Systems are also said to increase the life of pumps and reduce intrusive and detrimental water hammering.

The systems operate on single or three phase supply, and include all necessary electrical protection. There are six Genius options ranging from 0.55 KW to 5.5kW, regulating pressures up to 9 bar.

Single or dual pump systems are available without the need for control panels and three or more Genius units can be installed with an external control panel.
