Vacuum pump, blower and vacuum systems manufacturer Busch GVT, based in Crewe, Cheshire, is seeking two apprentices to join the firm’s new scheme which is set to commence in September 2013.

Busch is partnering with EEF - the manufacturing organisation which is opening a new Apprentice & Skills Training Centre in Aston, Birmingham - and is recruiting two candidates to embark on a three year programme where they will learn about all aspects of engineering and manufacturing. This will include day-to-day practical, hands on learning at Busch with theory and further technical instruction of machining and fitting at the training school. The ultimate goal for the two apprentices is to achieve a Level 3 City & Guilds Certificate and there will also be the opportunity to further develop their education and skills by studying for an HNC/HND.

Rachel Manley, HR manager for Busch GVT, said: “We’re looking for candidates with a genuine interest in engineering with a good understanding of the importance of providing world class quality products and services for customers. They will need to have a minimum of five GCSEs at grade C or above in maths and English, and science, design and technology would also be advantageous.”

Those interested in applying should go to www.apprenticeships.org.uk by 14 July 2013. An initial selection process will then take place and applicants meeting the criteria will first be invited to the EEF for a skills assessment. From there successful candidates will be invited to a Busch recruitment day where they will take part in group exercises, interviews, learn more about the Busch organisation and meet the team.
