UV inks can crystallize very easily due to their chemistry formulation mixed with photo initiators, making efficient UV ink transfer difficult, with manual formulation and transfer required. Ingersoll Rand says that the new pump has been designed specifically to keep shear and thermal energy at a minimum, allowing for the successful transfer of these materials. This reduces operating costs in the chemical processing, printing and packaging industries while allowing for the automation of UV ink and liquid transfers.

The piston pump is suitable for transferring medium- to high-viscosity cure-sensitive UV inks.
