The system can pump up to 420 litres per minute at 83 bar pressure or up to 200 litres per minute at 100 bar pressure. Wanner says this means three times the flow as they are true positive displacement pumps.
The multiple pump system where all three pumps take suction from a common manifold and discharge into a common header is said to be suitable for situations where continual flow has to be maintained and system shutdown avoided.
Wanner says minimal routine maintenance requirements can be accommodated while maintaining up to 60% of the rated flow and should a pump or motor go down it can be replaced while the rest of the system is still functioning.
It adds that in many instances, where footprint is not an issue, the three pump approach can save on acquisition and energy costs while improving the overall reliability and efficiency of the system.
