This is the first time the awards have been presented, and they acknowledge business and professional excellence across the entire motion engineering and automation industry in the key areas of manufacture and supply including, innovation and achievement, energy saving, sales growth, customer care and employee motivation. There are nine main categories:
- Technical Innovation of the Year
- Environmental/Energy Efficiency
- Project of the Year
- System Integrator of the Year
- Manufacturer of the Year
- Distributor of the Year
- Training Initiative of the Year
- Young Engineer of the Year
- Lifetime Achievement Award.
The deadline for all entries and nominations is Friday 2nd December 2011, and the judging panel will convene in late December to review all the entries and select the finalists in each category. Parties will then be invited to vote for which entry they believe should be the outright winner in each case. The awards ceremony will take place on the evening of 17th April 2012 at the St Johns Hotel in Solihull, UK. This event will correspond with the first day of the MACH, Drives & Controls, Air-tech, Plant & Asset Management and International Fluid Power Exhibitions, being held in Birmingham from 17–19 April.
