Atlas Copco is the first manufacturer to have its vacuum pumps measured for traces of oil and certified oil-free and environmentally friendly in accordance with the ISO 8573-1 standard.

TÜV Rheinland, aninternational body for the certification of safety and quality for products and services, has been monitoring three different types of Atlas Copco oil-free vacuum pumps since October 2018. The oil-free claw vacuum pump DZS, the oil-free screw vacuum pump DHS VSD+ and the new Atlas Copco oil-free liquid ring pumps LRP VSD+ have been measured.

All three pump types have been classified by TÜV as completely oil-free in the best Class Zero, which means it is certified as environmentally friendly, with zero risk of oil contamination and safe for applications and staff safety.

The measurements were carried out without an oil removal device at the outlet between the pumps and measurement membrane. TÜV Rheinland certified that no traces of aerosol oil (Concentration below 0.01 mg/m³) could be detected in the exhaust air flow. The vacuum pumps were certified as completely harmless to the quality of the ambient air during the process.
