Nominations for the 2014 Pump Industry Awards (PIA 2014) closed at 5pm GMT today, November 25 2013. There now follows a four-month wait until the awards night itself, in March next year in Warwickshire, UK.

Teeside-based Tomlinson Hall, a seven times finalist of the Distributor of the Year category, has supported the 2014 Awards with sponsorship of the Technical Innovation of the Year – Projects category.

Tony Keville, its managing director, said: ''As a company, we've built our reputation on providing bespoke engineered solutions to customers’ pumping challenges where a variety of different pumps are often required. The design and management of such projects, whether these be large scale or more modest, to ensure pumping systems work together rather than against each other is a true measure of a company’s or an individual engineer’s skill so we are delighted to sponsor this important category.”

The PIA 2014 awards evening will take place at the Chesford Grange Hotel in Kenilworth, England, on March 27 2014, and it will be hosted by Helen Fospero, a familiar face on British TV screens. She currently works for ITV, regularly hosting Lorraine and Daybreak and is also a regular on BBC Radio Five Live.

After-dinner entertainment will be provided by ex England and British Lions rugby player, Jeff Probyn, who will recount numerous tales from his playing days as a tight head prop, as well as anecdotes from his various coaching and management roles.
