Hagler Systems, established by members of the Hagler family who once owned GIW Industries, develops custom-engineered dredging and mining equipment and provides technical services for the dredging and mining industry. The company is known for its booster designs, cleanouts, and automated process control systems. Hagler Systems also represents GIW pumps among other dredge and slurry products.
The new partnership combines Hagler Systems’ engineering expertise with GIW’s pumping knowledge. The initial project will be a pump house for the oil sands market.
Nikki Rebernak, GIW business development and product manager, said: “Hagler Systems has already developed some outstanding products that are companions to GIW pumps: special spool pieces for the suction ends and special drive, skid and maintenance equipment – things that make it easier to use or package the equipment. So the goal of our relationship is to address whatever our customers need – to provide new solutions to real-world applications.”
The companies will begin with custom-engineered products and solutions but plan to eventually develop some standardized catalogue items. The resulting solutions will be developed and released as “Engineered Solutions, powered by Hagler Systems and GIW Industries.”
The motto of the new relationship is: “We’re Engineers – Tell us what you need.”
Georgia, USA-based GIW Industries, which has been making slurry pumps since 1914, is a subsidiary of Germany’s KSB AG.
