Each pump weighs 13 000kgs, is 20.3 metres long and 5.2 metres wide and is made of super duplex stainless steel.
In the event of a fire, the 10 diesel driven, UL and FM approved, vertical fire pumps will help protect the Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Co facility which handles about 400 000 barrels of oil per day.
The order, which Grundfos secured from Samsung Engineering in 2010, was the largest fire pump project ever handled by Grundfos.
