The KSB Group has supplied 39 API 610 standard pumps for a new two-way pipeline in Oman.
The pipeline, which is the first of its kind in Oman, connects the Mina Al Fahal and Suhar refineries on the Gulf of Oman through a 280 km pipeline to an intermediate distribution and storage facility at Jifnain as well as a new storage facility at Muscat International Airport.
The KSB process pumps are operated in injection and gas oil return as well as in pipeline and collecting tank drainage service. The pumps, which are API types OH2, VS1 and VS4, have cast steel casings and their shafts are made of forged alloy steel. 55 kW 2-pole and 4-pole three-phase motors are mainly used as drives.
The new pipeline network eliminates the need to transport the refinery products by ship and truck. This reduces the traffic load in and around Muscat and benefits the environment.
