The Ruhrpumpen foundry is now focusing only on Ruhrpumpen requirements and is no longer serving other customers. The Ruhrpumpen machine shop is also focusing only on Ruhrpumpen products, and new equipment has increased machining capacity to 2500 CNC hours.
These steps have significantly increased production capacity, and the company says it is already seeing results.
For example, on 14 December 2009, Shell requested a quotation for an SCE case and cover. Ruhrpumpen received the purchase order a week later and by 6 January 2010, the case and cover had been poured, machined, inspected, tested and were ready for shipment. Ruhrpumpen completed the order from the start to finished product in 21 days.
