The damaged pipe at a Swedish unloading terminal led to the creation of a special design for molten sulphur tanks. This required a 17 m long vertical pump that had to be lowered in from the top to avoid tapping the tank at the bottom. VDMA's Stephan Näckel and Per Karlsson describe this technical development.

Flow International demonstrating Mach 4 at FABTECH

18 August 2010

The Mach 4 series combines Flow’s HyperJet pump, rated at 94,000 psi, and Dynamic Waterjet XD high-precision flat stock and 3D cutting technology.

Flow’s HyperJet pump delivers continuous operating pressure at 87,000 psi. This enables parts to be cut faster with a lower cost per part, and shorter production runs than waterjets without the HyperPressure system. The Dynamic Waterjet XD enables manufacturers to accurately cut a wide variety of intricate designs, usually eliminating any secondary processing.

The Mach 2, which will also be on display, features FlowMaster software specifically designed to optimise waterjet cutting. FlowTeach, a system designed to quickly digitise patterns, templates or parts into FlowMaster software will also be demonstrated.
