The Qingdao plant is Befesa’s seventh reverse osmosis plant to incorporate Energy Recovery technology, with PX devices currently installed at facilities in Chennai, India, Bajo Almanzora, Spain, and at four major plants in Algeria.
The Qingdao desalination plant is expected to be operational by the end of 2012, and will save more than 2000 kW of energy and offset more than 10,000 tons of CO2 annually with Energy Recovery’s PX devices.
