Rexnord says it offers 25% higher torque ratings and 40% greater stiffness than its equivalent standard elastomer coupling range.

Called the Omega^® HDY, Rexnord says that the new high performance coupling combines the advantages of its standard split elastomer ‘flex’ element together with both close-coupled and spacer design formats. The result is an easy to install coupling with a replace-in-place facility plus reduced inventory, due to multiple distance between shaft ends mounting options using the same elements and hubs.

Torque ratings range from 28 Nm to 48,000 Nm with torsional stiffness up to 2 J/kgm (280 m/kg).
