Fluid Automation VSDs suitable for building services

30 August 2011

UK-based Fluid Automation now uses Variflo variable speed drives (VSDs) in its pumps and booster systems designed for building services duties.

As building regulation legislation calls for a substantial improvement of between 23% and 28% in energy performance of non-domestic buildings, manufacturers must take action on energy saving. Variable speed drives controlling the motors can  help achieve this, and  Fluid Automation‘s pumps and booster systems with integral Variflo control can result in amassive reduction in absorbed power of 50% for a 20% reduction in pump speed, the company says..

The VSDs have optimum factory set control parameters to suit the specified application and a soft-start control, with optimized motor protection, that allows the pump performance to be matched to the system flow requirements. They can also be customised to suit varied specifications. The controller is also suited for on site retro-fit in existing heating and air conditioning systems.
