28 August 2009

Watson-Marlow GmbH has acquired the Maso and Sine business based in Germany from Maso Process-Pumpen GmbH and Sundyne Corp.

MasoSine’s range of pumps is marketed mainly to the sanitary pump market in Europe and North America under the trade names Maso and Sine.

MasoSine’s sales operations serving Germany, the USA and the UK will be merged into existing Watson-Marlow Pumps Group sales companies, and its manufacturing plant in Ilsfeld, Germany will be maintained.
The €25 million purchase price, which is subject to a final valuation of the net tangible assets on completion of the deal, will be financed from a newly agreed €25 million loan facility.

Watson-Marlow Pumps Group, part of Spirax-Sarco Engineering plc, specialises in peristaltic pumps. The MasoSine acquisition expands Watson-Marlow Pumps Group’s product range for hygienic applications in the food and beverage industries.
