S-Drive Simplex variable speed pump controller for submersible pumps

15 September 2009

Goulds Pumps has developed the S-Drive Simplex variable speed pump controller for 4 in and 6 in submersible motors.

The S-Drive Simplex variable speed pump controller is also suitable for turbine pumps, surface centrifugal pumps up to 30 and water boosters. The S-Drive Simplex pump controller is pre-set for submersible or surface motor characteristics and is pre-wired. The S-Drive Simplex pump controller is pre-packaged in an outdoor NEMA 3R enclosure and is cUL listed to meet Canadian CSA safety standards.

The S-Drive Simplex pump controller adjusts motor speed to match the hydraulic needs of the system in order to maintain pressure and can reach up to 70% energy savings over fixed speed pumps. The same drive can be used for either single or three-phase power and is rated for the higher start-up amps required by higher horsepower submersible pumps.

The S-Drive Simplex pump controller can be used for single-phase 230 volt input in rural water applications. Its has a temperature range of -22°F to 122°F.

Suitable applications for the S-Drive Simplex pump controller include rural municipal water systems, commercial farms and providing supplemental pressure in commercial buildings up to 10 floors on a permanent basis or during periods of peak demand.
