Allweiler wins €200 000 pump order for Irish power plant

08 October 2009

Allweiler AG has supplied ten pumps to the Aghada power plant in Co Cork, Ireland in an order worth more than €200 000.

The Allweiler pumps are being used to move oily water in a 430 MW gas/steam combined-cycle power station constructed by Alstom for the state-owned ESB power company.

The ten Allweiler SETP-series progressing cavity pumps are installed vertically at various locations throughout the plant, moving rainwater mixed with leaked oil residues from underground shafts to oil/water separators. The pumps suck up to 48 m3/h from a maximum immersion depth of 1.6 m and with a differential pressure of 1.2 bar.
