Diaphragm pumps suitable for sterile jobs

12 November 2009

Almatec says that its BIOCOR Series of aseptic air-operated diaphragm pumps is suitable for sterile applications within the pharmaceutical industry.

The diaphragm pump’s pharmaceutical-friendly characteristics include gentle product displacement, easy start-up, self-priming capabilities and a sterile design.

The BIOCOR pumps have also been certified by the European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group (EHEDG) and conform with ATEX’s 94/9/EG directive. This is because the diaphragms, ball valves and O-rings are made of a material combination of polytetrafluoroethylene  (PTFE) or ethylene propylene diene (EPDM) rubber. This design enables the BIOCOR pumps to be cleaned and sterilized in place.
