High-pressure piston pumps and packages suitable for high viscosities

17 November 2009

Ingersoll Rand’s ARO Fluid Technologies unit has developed a new range of high-pressure piston pumps and packages for the transfer and supply of medium-to high viscosity materials.

The ARO 65:1 chop-check pump packages have been specially designed to handle fluids in excess of 1,000,000 centipoise and pressures up to 515.5 bar and can transport mastics, inks, sealants, adhesives and other heavy materials.

The high-pressure piston pumps are equipped with a chrome-plated plunger rod and cylinder that are especially suited to pumping abrasive fluids. The piston pumps employ longer strokes which cycle less frequently, delivering the same quantity of fluid with reportedly less pulsation than other brands. The piston pumps from ARO also incorporate a visible solvent cup and adjustable packings which can help minimize downtime and extend the life of the pump.
