Blackmer ProVane motor speed vane pumps for the chemical industry

08 December 2009

Ideal for critical process and transfer applications, the ProVane motor speed vane pumps from Blackmer reduce shaft/bearing contact and minimize friction to produce higher mechanical efficiency and lower energy costs

The Hydrodynamic Journal Bearing eliminates shaft-to-bearing contact within the ProVane pump by hydroplaning above the bearing surface on a cushion of liquid. In this hydrodynamic condition there is no metal-to-metal contact or wear, resulting in an indefinite bearing life.

ProVane pumps maintain optimum bearing characteristics under a wide range of operating conditions within various chemical manufacturing and transfer applications.

The Blackmer ProVane pump does not require a gear reducer and the vane technology principles of the ProVane pump ensures performance even after significant in-service time, eliminating efficiency-robbing ‘slip’. The ProVane pump delivers performance reliability, reduced preventative maintenance and operating speeds up to 3,600 rpm with capacities from 6 to 100 US gallons (379 litres) per minute, in sizes ranging from ¾" to 2".
