The external screens of a European battery breaking and recycling plant were regularly becoming blocked. The mounting downtime led the company to explore other options in high pressure pumping. A ready-to-use skid based package proved able to match the challenging environment, and exceed expectations in terms of pressure and flow.

Stuffing box reduces leak issues

11 December 2009

R&M Energy Systems has developed the Moyno EF (environmentally friendly) leakless stuffing box, a space in the pump casing surrounding the shaft.

According to the company, the box is designed to reduce costs and prevent the risks associated with unwanted environmental issues caused by leakages.

The boxes feature a simplified clamping system and is adaptable to most electric or hydraulic driveheads for versatility in preventing unnecessary fluid leakage at the wellsite. It is also designed to provide increased bearing support for enhanced stability and to eliminate premature internal drivehead wear.
The design also features a floating primary seal isolated in a fluid bath for reliable performance and long service life and pressure equalization on the primary seal.
