  • Makeover for old drainage pumps
Three 70 year old drainage pumps were unable to cope when flooding occurred at a UK power station in 2007. After complete replacement proved impossible due to the age of the pumps. AxFlow engineers examined the system and decided to fit a range of vital bearing and impeller parts which brought the vintage pumps back to required efficiency.
  • Managing abrasive lime in a distillery
The pumps in a Scottish distillery were struggling to cope with the abrasive lime used for dosing. A peristaltic hose pump was selected for its abrasion resistance and ability to ensure the smooth passage of the liquid, regardless of its viscosity. Since its installation, costs and downtime have decreased.
  • On demand district heating cuts costs
Refurbishing an ageing district heating system in Constanta, Romania using new hot-water recirculation pumps, associated variable speed drives and other controls in a demand-based arrangement, has resulted in an improved supply quality, plus an optimized, energy-efficient operation – all with greater reliability.
