Positive displacement pumps are still the preferred choice for metering highly corrosive and caustic chemicals. However, when it comes to reducing life-cycle costs, Chuck Treutel, P. Electralloy becomes North America’s exclusive licensed producer of Nitronic bar products

08 February 2010

Due to an expanded license from AK Steel, Electralloy is now the exclusive producer of all Nitronic bar, billet, coil rod, master alloy, pigs and ingot products

Nitronic stainless steels are high-strength and corrosion-resistant. Nitronic bar products provide mechanical properties at sub-zero and elevated temperatures, impact resistance at low temperatures and resistance to high-temperature oxidation. Nitronic products retain good weld-ability and fabric-ability and remain non-magnetic even after extensive cold working.

Electralloy AOD refines, argon shrouds, and bottom pours all Nitronic ingots. For specific applications and sizes Electralloy will employ ESR in the re-melt step.

Applications for Nitronic bar products include petrochemical, nuclear, marine, chemical, industrial, food service, pulp, paper, textile and infrastructure components.
