Hyundai Heavy Industries develops steam turbine for industrial pumps

Hyundai Heavy Industries Engine & Machinery Division (HHI-EMD) has developed its own steam turbine to drive industrial pumps, compressors, generators, blowers and fans that are used in refineries, chemical plants and cogeneration plants.

The first HHI HSS-18, which has a power range of 500 kW–2000 kW, was tested successfully on 1 February 2010 at Hyundai Heavy Industries’ shop.
 
This is the driver for an industrial pump which Hyundai Heavy Industries Engine & Machinery division will be delivered to the customer in March 2010.
