A new pump was needed which could improve efficiency and reduce downtime without presenting difficulties during installation.   • Control of chemical dosing in wastewater treatment

UK-based Partech Instruments has developed feed forward control systems employing on-line analysers in the inlet stream to send real-time data to a dosing control system for automatic adjustment of the dosing pump.     Bedford Pumps contributed to an extensive refurbishment of Ashton Avenue sewage pumping station, one of Wessex Water's largest and most critical facilities in the Bristol region.   • KSB aids Polish wastewater upgrade
    When the wastewater and effluent infrastructure of the historic city of Krakow in Poland was in urgent need of renewal and updating, the main objectives being to improve the treatment of sewage which eventually flows into the Baltic Sea. A number of KSB's sewage submersible pumps and mixers were used to fulfil this objective.

Southern Water selects Mono EZstrip pumps for UK sludge treatment centre

Southern Water has installed six Mono EZstrip maintain in place pumps at its Millbrook sludge treatment centre (STC) in Southampton, UK.

The Mono EZstrip pumps will transfer sludges at different stages in the process, including centrifuge feed, digester feed and cake dilution.

Carl Smith, section leader at Southern Water's Millbrook STC, said: “We have a preferred supplier agreement with NOV Mono and the EZstrip is our preferred standard asset. We have installed six EZstrip pumps at our site in Millbrook because of the de-ragging benefits they offer our operators.”
