Schubert & Salzer Control Systems produce explosion-proof actuator positioner

02 March 2010

Schubert & Salzer Control Systems’s 8049 digital unit for positioning pneumatically controlled actuators is now available in two explosive proof versions with a two-wire system.

The 8049-Ex digital positioner from Schubert & Salzer Control Systems is certified for use within high explosion risk areas, including Zone O intrinsically safe for gas and dust laden atmospheres.

The 8049-Ex digital positioner can be top-mounted to any commercially available pneumatic control valve fitted with linear and part-turn actuators. The positioner is mounted centrally over the valve actuator and needs no additional exposed linkages, ensuring no moving parts are accessible, maximising operational safety and reliability.
The positioner has three operating systems available: the standard 4 wire unit using 24Vdc solenoids and 4-20ma control, two wire loop powered using piezoelectric technology and innovative AS-I control technology.
The 8049-Ex digital positioner from Schubert & Salzer Control Systems is aimed at manufacturing and processing in food, pharmaceuticals and breweries.
