04 May 2010

Baker Hughes has installed Centrilift XP enhanced run life electrical submersible pumping (ESP) systems in two vertical subsea boosting stations located on the seabed at Shell’s Perdido Field in the Gulf of Mexico in 8000 feet of water.

The pumping systems at Perdido are designed to boost up to 125 000 barrels of fluid per day. Three other ESP systems are scheduled for installation at Perdido later this year.

Shell designed and operates the Perdido development on behalf of partners Chevron and BP.
