Grundfos opens state-of-the-art pump testing facility in Wahlstedt, Germany

Grundfos Pumps has officially opened a fire pump test facility at the company’s production facility in Wahlstedt, Germany.

The new state-of-the-art Grundfos facility will handle fire pumps to be sold throughout Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa.

The bare shaft pumps, which will be sent from the Peerless Pump facility in Indianapolis, USA, will be assembled and tested at the new Grundfos facility in Wahlstedt.
 
The more than 4000 sq ft test room contains a 111 000 gallon test pit and can accommodate pumps with a capacity of 8800 gallon-per-minute, with electric motors or diesel engines up to nearly 540 hp.
 
The new Grundfos facility also has an extra tank with a cleaning mechanism to wash pumps for drinking water applications.
