Landia Chopper pump set to completes 10 years of uninterrupted service

25 May 2010

The dry-installed Chopper pump has been in continual service at Saeby Fish Processing Plant in Denmark.

At the plant in Vendsyssel on the northern tip of Jutland, where Saeby specialize in the processing of mackerel, Landia’s MPTKR-I Chopper Pump has been successfully mixing the contents of a tank through a recirculation system before sludge is pumped to a tanker truck. The sludge includes polymers, emanates from the dewatering unit and has a dry matter content of 15%. To handle this high dry matter content efficiently and effectively, the 18.5 kW Landia Chopper Pump was built with a special feeder propeller.

Almost a decade on, the Landia Chopper Pump has worked continuously, without breakdowns and with only routine preventative maintenance required.
