  • Water access in remote locations
Flexibility is key when supplying the power to help access the water supply in a variety of different duties, from an African desert to organic farming in the UK. Grundfos' solar power systems were able to help the clients in each case extract the water they needed to make their businesses succeed.
  • Fluid handling in remote locations
In the oil and gas industry, reliable pumps can mean the difference between a fully operating, efficient gas compression station and a bottleneck on the pipeline. Natural gas pipelines are often remote, and powering a pump and performing maintenance can be difficult. Oakley Roberts of Ingersoll Rand, explains the company's innovative solution.
  • Installing ABS irrigation schemes in Kenya
Long-term water shortages and an aging infrastructure system mean Kenya is in need of new water supply facilities. Local institutions came together to begin the refurbishment and reinstallation of effective pumping systems, beginning with a rice irrigation scheme. After ABS replaced worn out submersible water pumps, an increase in rice production was noted.
  • High speed gouging with a robotic system
When a Norwegian oil refinery set its sights on becoming the safest in Europe, it challenged Jet Set Hydro Technics to develop a method for removing worn storage tank bottoms using ultra-high pressure waterjets. Using a robotic system, the refinery was able to work towards their goal with safety, speed and efficiency.
  • Using CFdesign to optimize performance
A new CFdesign module, which facilitates carrying out multi-scenario design studies, has allowed Cornell Pump to spend more time on pump design, and much less time on expensive rework. CFD allows reliable simulation and optimization of the design, placement and performance of critical components, as this article shows.

R&M Energy Systems develop Moyno PD powered generator

03 June 2010

The ElectroFlo Generator is powered by a positive displacement downhole power section, which has been used to handling entrained solids in drilling fluids.

The output power of Moyno's ElectroFlo Generator is 200 W (7.1 Amps at 28 volts). The generator has a greater tolerance of lost circulation material (LCM) and thus allows for much broader spectra of drilling fluids. It has a slower RPM, and is easily adaptable to different flow ranges.
