AxFlow Ireland has acquired Irish Pumps & Valves Ltd, a supplier of valves, actuators, pumps and ancillary equipment to the wastewater, power generation and process industries.
AxFlow Ireland has a well-established presence in these industries through its pump distribution and service facilities, and by adding valves to its portfolio it will be able to offer pump and valve packages for large scale projects.
“This acquisition will enable AxFlow Ireland to enter the valve market in the wastewater sector and thereby capitalise on Irish Pumps & Valves’ strong position,” said AxFlow Group CEO Ole Weiner. “The strategy of adding valves to our product portfolio has already realised benefits in the food sector with the introduction of SPX products. This is a big opportunity for us to grow valve sales in sectors which AxFlow Ireland has never explored. We have a good spread across all markets with our pumps so adding valves to our offering is obvious next step in growth.”
Established in 1998, Irish Pumps & Valves is based in Bagenalstown, Co Carlow, where it stocks a range of gate, non-return, ball and butterfly valves. The portfolio also includes pneumatic and electric actuators, flanges, fittings, gaskets and fixings. The company offers full assembly and test facilities at its Co Carlow premises, as well as an onsite customer service backup.
Helen Murray, the owner of Irish Pumps & Valves, welcomed the acquisition. “There are considerable synergies between both companies and together we can expand into industry sectors where previously we were under represented,” said Murray.
“Irish Pumps & Valves has a good geographical location outside Dublin, so this will provide AxFlow with the opportunity to grow another service facility for its pumps business, as well as developing service and testing for valves,” said Stuart Flood, managing director of AxFlow Ireland.
AxFlow Holding AB recently bought Induchem Group, an Irish specialist provider of fluid handling solutions including valves, pipe solutions, mixers, pneumatics and pumps.
