The new facility, located in Perundurai’s Special Economic Zone, will produce stainless steel submersible pumps, motors, vertical multistage pumps, pressure boosting systems and industrial pumps. The pumpsets will be used in industrial, residential, irrigation, water supply, mining, oil and gas, buildings, wastewater and civil applications.
Set-up with an initial first phase investment of Rs300 million, the new manufacturing unit has the capacity to produce more than 100 000 pumpsets per year. It is targeting turnover of Rs2000 million in its first year. In the second phase, CRI Pumps plans to invest Rs300 million-400 million to further expand the unit.
The new unit will continue to use CRI Group’s global research centre – Fludyn Advanced Technology Centre.
