Sulzer has completed its SEK1.2 billion acquisition of Nordic Water, the Swedish supplier of water treatment technology.

Gothenburg-headquartered Nordic Water provides screening, sedimentation and filtration solutions for municipal and industrial water and wastewater applications.

“Nordic Water brings a broad application suite of primary, secondary and tertiary water treatment solutions to Sulzer, and a deep understanding of water and wastewater treatment applications,” said Frederic Lalanne, president of Sulzer’s Pumps Equipment division. “Our complementary fit will result in a stronger value proposition to our municipal and industrial water customers and open up significant opportunities in growing our sales presence worldwide.”

“Our joint history of supporting the water industry and the complementary nature of our businesses will allow us to deliver sustainable products that meet the needs of today without compromising with future generations,” said Jonas Gunnarsson, CEO of Nordic Water. “We believe in offering high quality products and combined with energy-efficiency, the life cycle cost we will jointly offer our customers is very low. This is a perfect match.”
