Tsurumi Pump celebrates 40 years in the US

Tsurumi Pump is marking 40 years of business in the US with a year-long celebration and plans to further grow its business.

Tsurumi (America) Inc, a division of Japan’s Tsurumi Manufacturing Co, was founded in 1979 with a location in Chicago, Illinois. Today, Tsurumi (America) Inc is headquartered in Glendale Heights, Illinois, and has bases in Quebec, Canada; El Paso, Texas; and West Jordan, Utah.

“Over the last 40 years, we’ve grown from a little-known pump manufacturer here in the US to one of the leaders in the market,” said Glenn Wieczorek, managing director of Tsurumi Pump. “We’re proud of how far we’ve come, and we’re positioned for even more growth in the coming years, not only in our existing pump business, but in complementary areas where we can leverage our expertise.”

Tsurumi Pump’s growth plans include expanding its facility in Salt Lake City, Utah, to a 37 000 sq ft warehouse, to better service customers in the western US.

The pump company is also planning a philanthropic initiative that will focus on education, training and knowledge exchange in the engineering and pump technology areas.

Tsurumi Pump has started an initiative that enables employees to donate time during business hours to philanthropic work within the community, as well as hosting company events that encourage employees to volunteer on service projects centered on helping the environment.

“As we continue to grow as a business, we want to give back to the community and those who might be affected by our industry, especially focusing on education,” said Wieczorek. “As stewards of working with and managing water properly, we want to give back to society our knowledge and expertise to ensure our environment continues to be vibrant and protected.”
