The Aussie pumps are helping redirect the waters of the Nile River and protect the city of Juba from the devastating equatorial monsoon season.
The United Nations already has 25 of these big Aussie 6” pumps working to divert the Nile River around Juba.
This shipment, going by urgent air freight directly to Africa, will give extra capacity to move 24,000 litres per minute to keep the city safe.
Aussie Pumps says that the shipment demonstrates the kind of agile, humanitarian-focused engineering that the company is proud to deliver.
“Working with the United Nations is a great privilege. We’re proud of being able to help people in trouble, undergoing very tough climate conditions, with the threat of a civil war breaking out any time,” said Mel Jansen, Aussie Pumps export manager.
The pumps were wrapped up like mummies and skidded for air freight to Africa.
