Swedish company Cardo says that the order is worth approximately SEK 20 million. Cardo adds that the desalination plant in Adelaide is one of several projects launched in Australia in order to ensure access to drinking water in the future. The plant is estimated, when it is completed in 2010, to account for approximately one quarter of Adelaide’s drinking water needs. The pumps, which will be delivered and installed during 2009 and 2010, will pump the desalinated water to the city's drinking water system and water reservoirs. The order will be booked in its entirety during the first quarter.
“This is a substantial and significant order for us that shows the breadth and potential our offering as the need for clean water increases in our world,” says Peter Aru, Cardo’s president and chief executive officer.
