The Japanese company is optimizing its global service network by expanding and consolidating its bases in order to adapt to the changing business environment, including carbon neutrality and the energy transition.
Ebara has identified the Middle East and Asia as a growth region in the energy sector, and expects demand for service and support (S&S) for compressors, turbines, and custom pumps to increase further in the future. In addition to the service shop for custom pumps already in operation in Saudi Arabia and the service shop for compressors and turbines that started operating in 2023, the new shop in Abu Dhabi will enable Ebara to respond to the growing demand for service. The new facility will open in the fourth quarter of FY2025.
In order to provide more advanced and prompt services for rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors and turbines, Ebara has decided to expand the capacity of its existing service store in Houston, Texas from 7,000 sq m to approximately 9,300 sq m. The expansion is scheduled for completion in June 2025.
As part of the integration of sales and service functions for compressors and turbines and custom pumps, Ebara also established its first service shop in Indonesia earlier this year. This new service shop will meet the growing demand for service in the region.
In response to customers moving their operating bases and markets to other regions, Ebara has also consolidated its service stores in Burlington, Canada and Guatemala. Ebara says this will allow the company to optimize its service network and establish a structure to efficiently serve customers, while improving the profitability of the S&S business.
