Freudenberg has completed its acquisition of Filc, the Slovenian producer of needle punch nonwoven textiles and laminated materials, including filtration media.
Founded in 1937, Filc has been in the nonwovens business since 1963 and employs around 360 people. The company has three production plants in Slovenia – Škofja Loka, Mengeš and Lendava – and a sales office in Dayton, Ohio, USA.
Filc will now be integrated into the Freudenberg Performance Materials Business Group and will continue trading under the name Filc for the time being.
“With the acquisition, we want to further strengthen our performance materials business, and expand our portfolio and technological footprint in Europe,” said Dr Mohsen Sohi, Freudenberg Group CEO.
