Centrifugal pump manufacturer, Griswold, has released two further vlogs in its educational video blog series, this time covering the pump Affinity Laws.
The latest two-part video relates to the Affinity Laws which help govern the centrifugal pump performance. Specifically, the laws help that predict pump performance at different velocities and are used to modify pumps for new and different required duties.
In the vlog, James Farley, Griswold product manager, looks at two aspects of the Affinity Laws – the Affinity Law impeller trim and the Affinity Law RPM. Affinity Law impeller trim shows how to estimate a pump's performance when the impeller diameter is changed. You can view the video here.
Affinity Law RPM focuses on the Affinity Law that can be used to predict pump performance when changing speeds. Using the Griswold test lab, it provides a real-world example here.
