The UAE Organising Committee of the 24th World Energy Congress recently announced that Abu Dhabi’s leading strategic investment company, the Mubadala Investment Company, will be a host sponsor for the 2019 Congress, which will take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from 9 to 12 September 2019.

More than 10,000 energy stakeholders are expected to meet for the world’s largest energy gathering, which is held every three years. The theme for the Congress will be ‘Energy for Prosperity’ with dialogue on critical issues facing the energy sector. Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, the 24th edition will mark the first time the Congress has been hosted in a Middle Eastern city, and by an OPEC member country, in the event’s 94-year history. The World Energy Congress covers the entire energy spectrum, from oil and gas to renewables and nuclear.

Mubadala manages a global energy portfolio which includes the petroleum value chain, from exploration and production, through refining and petrochemicals. Through the technology and operations experience of its asset companies, Mubadala is working alongside the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) to develop Abu Dhabi’s downstream capabilities and position the Emirate as the leading hub serving the Middle East and the growing markets of Asia.
